Cooking with girlfriends

A few years ago Kristin and I decided that it was time for Rachel to impart a bit of her Greek cooking wisdom on us and teach us how to make dolmas.  That experience is the first time I can remember, as an adult, cooking with girlfriends.  It was such a fun afternoon sitting in Rachel's sunny kitchen, repeatedly folding seasoned rice into grape leaves while we solved all the world's problems.   Or maybe we discussed the antics of Hollywood celebrities.  I forget which.   Regardless, it made what could have been a very mundane task so enjoyable, and cooking with girlfriends has been on my list of favorite things ever since.

When I can't actually cook with them, I still enjoy using their recipes.

This is a blog to share the recipes we make for and with each other, and the stories that go along with them.

  1. I will always remember that day we made dolmas as well. I am so lucky to have a network of girlfriends who love to cook and share there yummy recipes. It keeps me from falling into the same old rut of creating the same meals over and over again. One of the best parts of sharing recipes with my girlfriends is that we are all in the same boat, we have busy lives but love to cook homemade meals for our family and friends. My favorite recipes are those with simple everyday ingredients that are quick and easy to prepare. Some of my favorite staple meals are those I received from my girlfriends.
